Reddit user @Altruistic_Snow6366 asked fans in the Trader Joe’s forum what their “holy grail” items are — and the store’s obsessive shoppers did not disappoint.
In the original post, the user clarified that by “holy grail,” they mean “the item you get at least one of every visit, the one you’ll leave feeling a little sad if it’s out of stock.”
Many of the items named in the comments were staple fan favorites, but some lesser-known items were named, too, as well as non-food items.
The Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups are a beloved Trader Joe’s snack that several users mentioned in the thread.
These sweet treats are so popular that they had to be taken out of the running for the store’s annual Customer Choice Awards because they consistently won in their categories. It has now been relegated to the Trader Joe’s Product Hall of Fame.
Trader Joe’s frozen hashbrown patties also received a lot of love, as one person lamented that “they’re out of stock more than they’re in stock.”
One person claimed the “best addictive item at TJs by far” is the Garlic Spread Dip. It’s a versatile item too, as it can be used as a dip for vegetables or chips, a base for meats, a topping for burgers or hot dogs or even a mix-in for dressings or sauces.
The “catch-all condiment” Crunchy Chili Onion Sprinkle Seasoning Blend was another standout item. Users said they put it on everything from eggs to salads, chicken, shrimp and more.
“Last year, they were sold out for MONTHS, so I bought six when they finally got it back in stock,” one shopper admitted.
Many also praised the 99-cent greeting cards, which people said are “the best deal.” One person shared that they “framed one of them, it was so cute.”
Another non-food standout item was the Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen, which is often considered a dupe of the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen.
Trader Joe’s flowers also get love for their price and “looking fresh for weeks.”
