For Travis Kelce, it’s hair today, gone tomorrow!
The Kansas City Chiefs had their fifth practice session ahead of the upcoming NFL season on Sunday, July 27, but the talk of training camp was Kelce’s hair
The Chiefs tight end, 35, was seen sporting his signature buzz cut with faded sides during Sunday’s practice session at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, after sporting luscious ‘90s-style curtains over the summer.
The Chiefs’ official social media accounts shared a snap of Kelce rocking his new hairdo. “Fresh cut Trav 😮💨,” they captioned an Instagram post of the football player, who can be seen smiling in the pic.
Chiefs assistant special teams coach Porter Ellett also snapped a picture posing alongside Kelce, and two of his children, Sunday, which shows off the tight end’s return to his former style.

On social media, fans had varying reactions to Kelce’s new look.
“He brought back the fade! Super Bowl confirmed !! LFGGGG KELCE have yourself a season !! ❤️💛,” shared one person via X.
But another fan page lamented, “His beautiful hair is gone 😭😭.”
Kelce sported longer locks, often sweptback, on and off the gridiron for the better part of the last year. During the Chiefs’ 2024 training camp, his teammate Patrick Mahomes even joked that he grew out his hair at pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift’s behest.
“I’ve been trying to get him to grow his hair out and all of a sudden Taylor gets him to do it,” Mahomes told SiriusXM NFL Radio host Bruce Murray and Alex Smith in an August 2024 interview.
Kelce and Swift, also 35, have enjoyed a low-key summer since the end of the last NFL season, which culminated with the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl LIX trophy in February.
On Thursday, July 24, the tight end took to Instagram to share an assortment of images from his summer off the field — including pictures with Swift, thus making their relationship Instagram official after two years of dating.

“Had some adventures this offseason,” Kelce captioned a carousel of images, including him and Swift enjoying a late-night dinner, going skiing with friends and ice skating.
In a recent TikTok video shared by the Chiefs, the team’s social media staff asked players their favorite moments from the NFL offseason. While others mentioned their families and spouses, Kelce kept his response coy.
“Man, too many,” Kelce said of his favorite memories over the summer.
