Bachelor Nation alum Rachael Kirkconnell is speaking out following her split from Matt James. Nearly two weeks after James, 33, announced the pair’s breakup, Kirkconnell, 28, shared that the relationship’s end was “nothing that you can prepare for” and revealed she’s taking things “one day at a time.” She further hinted that there might be more to the story of their breakup than meets the eye but denied infidelity was involved. “I think things will start to come out and I’ll speak about it whenever I’m ready, but for now, I’m just protecting my peace,” she said in footage shared via DeuxMoi’s Instagram page. James previously announced on January 16 that he and Kirkconnell ended their relationship four years after meeting on The Bachelor season 25. A source exclusively told Us Weekly that the breakup was “a long time coming” despite seeming “abrupt” to fans, adding, “It was hard for Rachael to trust him.” Kirkconnell will share more insight into the split on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on Tuesday, January 28.
