With Meghan Markle’s entire As Ever product line completely sold out, foodies wondering whether the brand’s highly anticipated jam lives up to the hype will have to rely on reviews for now.

However, it seems that some fans aren’t thrilled with the final product. While some have started calling it “scam jam” on social media, others have referred to it as more of a “spread.”

One reviewer for the Daily Mail claimed that the product was “watery” when opened which led to questions about how the product traveled.

“If we hadn’t known better, we’d have thought it melted during its expedited journey to us,” Jane Herz wrote, in part, during her review. “When we stuck our spoon into Meghan’s raspberry spread, its consistency dripped off the silverware like a sauce.”

Influencers who have received their packages opened them on camera, which led to some mixed reviews. One TikTok user referred to it as the “perfect sour jam,” while another had a telling facial expression after her taste test noting that it’s “so sweet” before suggesting its more of a dessert.

Kevin Mazur/Getty Images Meghan Markle is fully embracing her new era. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared an inspiring new Instagram post on Thursday, February 20, that appeared to tease the first product under her newly rebranded company, As Ever, as well as sweet nods to her husband, Prince Harry, and her son, Prince Archie, […]

“Looks small, expensive, runny texture and not that special,” one X user wrote, replying to an influencer taste test. “I think I will stick with my regular jam.”

Other X users have echoed the claims that it looks more like “sauce,” with one alleging that it’s “looks like a jar of high fructose, corn syrup and food coloring.”

Several photos shared on social media appear to show hair in their jam upon opening the product, which has led to widespread backlash as well. While the jam has become the focal point of the line, other reviewers have also raised an issue with Meghan explaining how to make tea — “twice,” according to a New York Magazine piece.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, dropped her debut As Ever collection on Wednesday, April 2. The eight products on the lineup included a $12 raspberry spread, a $28 limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb, a $12-a-piece assortment of three herbal teas, a $14 crepe mix, a $14 shortbread cookie mix with flower sprinkles and a $15 tin of flower sprinkles.

In a Wednesday press release, Meghan described her raspberry spread as “the heart of the collection and where it all began.” The jam became the first product from her lifestyle brand — which was previously named American Riviera Orchard before becoming As Ever in February — when she shared it with friends and family in 2024.
