While his wife, Hailey Bieber, was all glammed up at the 2025 Met Gala, Justin Bieber was keeping it casual while supporting his hometown hockey team.
Justin, 31, watched the Toronto Maple Leafs defeat the Florida Panthers 5-4 in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinals playoff series on Monday, May 5.
The pop star shared multiple photos and videos from his home viewing party, which was attended by at least a couple of Justin’s friends.
“1 down,” Justin wrote via Instagram at the conclusion of Game 1 of the best-of-seven series. The Maple Leafs and Panthers return to the ice for Game 2 in Toronto on Wednesday, May 7.
Justin, who has been a lifelong supporter of the Maple Leafs, expressed his excitement and optimism about Toronto’s playoff chances earlier in the day.
“New series starts tonight,” he wrote via Instagram. “This the yearski.”
The Maple Leafs haven’t won the Stanley Cup, awarded to the winners of the NHL playoffs, since 1967. Justin was raised in Stratford, Ontario, roughly 100 miles outside of Toronto.
While Justin watched hockey, Hailey, 28, attended the 2025 Met Gala at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, her first appearance at the event in three years.
For the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme, Hailey wore a Saint Laurent blazer dress featuring a double-breasted neckline and black buttons. She accessorized her look with a diamond Tiffany & Co. necklace and coordinating earrings.
Hailey last attended the Met Gala in 2021 with Justin on her arm.
The couple got married in September 2019 and welcomed their first baby, son Jack Blues, in August 2024.
Justin and Hailey’s relationship has been under the microscope in recent months, with Justin’s behavior on social media often concerning his fans.

A source exclusively told Us Weekly in February that Hailey is doing everything she can to have her husband’s back.
“Hailey is trying to be as supportive as possible,” the source said. “It can be hard for Hailey, but she’s always there for him and is understanding.”
The insider also noted that Justin has been focused on his family lately.
“He is a really great dad to Jack and is very protective over him,” the source added.
Last month, Justin was also forced to deal with the death of his grandfather Bruce Dale, who died on April 24.
“Papa , I always took all ur money lol,” Justin wrote via Instagram on April 26. “I remember u specifically telling me, gramma gave u an allowance of 20 dollars for the WEEK! I would always convince you to spend on snacks at the hockey game on Friday nights.”
