Role Model has been on everyone’s radar after he was spotted out with Dakota Johnson.
Role Model (real name Tucker Pillsbury) and Johnson were first seen together in December 2025. According to photos obtained by TMZ, the pair appeared to be cozy while enjoying a candle lit dinner at a restaurant with friends.
The following month, Role Model and Johnson reunited as they enjoyed a night out in Beverly Hills, per Page Six. While rumors swirled that the duo were dating, neither Johnson nor Role Model have addressed their connection.

Role Model Has Been Making Music Since 2016
Role Model has been in the music game for quite some time. The singer confessed he originally didn’t plan to pursue a music career but his passion for songwriting came out of the blue. After recovering from a skiing injury and later a skateboarding incident during his freshman year in college, Role Model made friends with two aspiring rappers and the group had a jam session.
“Music was never in the plan. I was super into film, making videos with my friends through high school and ended up going to school for it. At the end of my freshman year I met these two kids that rapped and recorded themselves and I thought it was the coolest thing,” he told Nylon in February 2020. “They came to my dorm and we messed around, they ended up leaving all the gear in my room and I spent two weeks completely obsessed, skipping classes and learning how to use Logic. Immediately fell in love with it and now I’m here!”
Role Model started releasing music in 2016 under the moniker Tucker. During this time, he was primarily involved in the rap genre. In the early days of his music career, Role Model dabbled with multiple stage names before landing on his current one in 2017. That same year, he branched out from rapping to singing.
He has released three EPs and two full studio albums including Rx and Kansas Anymore.
Role Model Was Mentored by Mac Miller
After releasing his 2017 EP, Arizona in the Summer, Mac Miller’s management team connected with Role Model. The singer was flown out to Los Angeles where he was able to meet one on one with Miller. Before Miller’s death in 2018, he and Role Model collaborated and Miller served as a mentor for the up and coming artist. Role Model has been candid about how much Miller’s mentorship matters to him and how he tries to honor the late rapper to this day.
“I’ve never been a person who thinks that everything happens for a reason or something, but it’s the craziest thing,” he said of his bond with Miller in a January 2021 interview with Very Good Light. “He was the most one-of-a-kind person. Every little thing that he ever said to me, I remember. I think about his opinion all the time.”
Role Model continued, “Even now, when I’m writing music, I always ask myself, ‘Would he think this was trash? Would he love this?’ Every little line. It’s kind of psychotic that I’m still weirdly looking for his approval. But I think that’s his impact on people. It’s this very rare, contagious energy.”

Role Model had a breakout year in 2025 with his song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” The song made waves on social media after Role Model started bringing out a celebrity guest to dance with him on stage during the number. Several A-List stars have participated in the moment including Kate Hudson, Natalie Portman, Hilary Duff, Charli XCX and more.
The bit became a longstanding tradition which Role Model has done not just during concerts but on TV performances including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live.
Role Model Is Going to Be in a Movie With Natalie Portman
Role Model was announced as part of the cast of Netflix’s and Lena Dunham’s rom-com Good Sex. The film, which also stars Natalie Portman and Mark Ruffalo, will premiere in 2026.
Role Model Previously Dated Emma Chamberlin
Role Model and Emma Chamberlin were first linked in 2020. Two years later, the pair seemingly soft-launched their romance when Chamberlin appeared in Role Model’s music video for “Neverletyougo.” The following year, the musician and the influencer hard-launched their relationship when they attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party in 2023. That same year, the couple participated in a GQ Valentine’s Day photoshoot.
Multiple outlets reported in October 2023 that Role Model and Chamberlain split after three years of dating.
