The ongoing feud between Alix Earle and Alex Cooper can be traced back to some podcast drama — but what caused their original divide over business?
Earle, 25, initially developed a professional partnership with Cooper, 31, after signing her “Hot Mess” podcast in September 2023 under Cooper’s Unwell Network. The podcast was ultimately dropped in February 2025 amid rumors of a rift between Cooper and Earle.
A source now tells Us Weekly that Earle’s podcast was “dropped because her fan base did not translate to viable listenership.” Since the “Hot Mess” podcast “did not have the listenership to allow the podcast to continue,” Unwell Network had to pull the plug, which was “a difficult decision.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Earle for comment.
The drama surrounding the podcast venture resurfaced when Earle appeared to throw subtle shade at Cooper on social media. The “Call Her Daddy” podcast host, for her part, broke her silence on the alleged rift between herself and Earle by releasing a public message.
“I’m really tired of waking up and seeing you using this fake drama to distract from other s*** going online for you. Not interested. I know what happened and so do you,” Cooper said in a video on Monday, April 13. “So talk. Unless the fake narrative that you’re creating happens to be way more interesting than the truth. I have nothing to hide when it comes to you and me.”
Cooper asked that Earle “get specific” about what caused their issues, adding, “Just say what you gotta say about me. There’s no NDA and no one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself. What’s the beef?”
She concluded: “Unless you actually have something to say, I’m out. This is over. Have a good Monday, everyone.”
Earle hinted at plans to share her side of the story when she replied, “OK on it!!” In a separate video, Earle was filmed watching Cooper’s post before making lighthearted comments about the situation.
Before their social media feud, a source told Us that the pair faced a “lot of tension” before their falling out.
“They’ve had a lot of drama between them [since] they decided to collaborate on Unwell,” a second insider shared. “They clashed over business, and their friendship is over because of it.”
The Earle vs. Cooper discourse has also had celebrities weighing in, with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy sharing his theories on the Monday episode of the “Chicks in the Office” podcast, saying, “I know Alex Cooper, one time I saw her, [I] was like, ‘I want to apologize for the way we were with ‘Call Her Daddy.’ Now that I’m managing talent, I see how hard it can be.’”
He continued: “And that to me was like, ‘Alright, I’m having Alix Earle issues. Like, she’s huge. It’s, like, all this money is coming in, but it goes maybe to the network. There’s going to be tension.”
