The shocking HGTV cancellations just keep coming — but what led to the brutal cuts, and will there be more?

After becoming the go-to destination for TV shows about home improvement and real estate, HGTV built a strong fan base that has supported its extensive programming slate, which includes shows such as The Flip Off, Scariest House in America, My Lottery Dream Home and more.

Viewers were in for a startling surprise, however, when multiple hosts announced in summer 2025 that their shows wouldn’t be returning. From Battle on the Beach to Farmhouse Fixer, there were a handful of cancellations — with the possibility for more.

The network has yet to address the controversial decision, but various HGTV stars have weighed in on their programs being cut. As HGTV fans await answers about the network’s future broadcast schedule, keep scrolling for a breakdown of the ongoing situation:

In June 2025, HGTV viewers were thrown by the news that Bargain Block wouldn’t be returning. That news was quickly followed up with updates on Battle on the Beach, Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate and Izzy Does It, all of which were also not renewed for more seasons.

Bargain Block cohost Keith Bynum kicked off the cancellation controversy when he claimed that his show was abruptly ending. “[HGTV] decided in February, after we got everything ready for season 5, that they weren’t gonna do it,” he wrote via Instagram in June 2025.

That same month, Married to Real Estate’s Egypt Sherrod and her husband, Mike Jackson, spoke out about the status of their show.

“Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we’re met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate,” read the couple’s joint statement. “While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful. Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all-grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other).”

Sherrod and Jackson continued: “There’s more to say, and we’ll share soon. But for now, know this: not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise. We’ve been here before. We’ll keep counting those blessings-and keep it moving. Stay tuned.”

Farmhouse Fixer’s host Jonathan Knight had similar news about his own show.

“A lot of you have been asking about the future of Farmhouse Fixer. I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season,” Knight wrote in an Instagram post in June 2025. “While I’m still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina and I are so grateful for all your support over the past three seasons. Television has been so incredibly fun for us. We are so proud of what we created together and look forward to sharing what’s next for us.”

Izzy Battres broke his silence in June 2025 about wrapping up Izzy Does It after one season.

“It’s a wrap for the show — no season 2 ahead, but we’re truly grateful for all of you!” he responded to one Instagram fan. “We won’t be coming back for a 2nd season, but the support has meant the world!”

Battres added: “No season 2 but we’re so grateful for all the love you’ve shown us!!”

One month later, Alison Victoria revealed her property renovation series with Ty Pennington and Taniya Naya received unfortunate news as well.

“I did a show called Battle on the Beach. I love that show. It was so fun and funny. And then all of a sudden, I watched the episode, I’m like, ‘Well, where’d all that [great content] go? I get it, it’s a lot of content to try to put into 42 minutes, but where is it? Where’s the great editing?’ she shared on her “Pap Smear” podcast. “You’ll lose a show that way. I truly believe that. Battle on the Beach did not get picked back up, which is sad, because it was like adult spring break.”
