Meghan Markle’s With Love, Meghan didn’t use her and Prince Harry’s actual Montecito, California, home as its set — but she flipped the script for season 2.
“So, today we’re starting at my house,” Meghan, 44, said in the Netflix show’s fourth episode, which premiered on Tuesday, August 26. “It’s happy hour.”
She added, “The hummingbirds are everywhere. Hummingbird feeders around this time of day, they are just battling for who’s at the pub first.”
While fans didn’t get a chance to see the interior of the home that Meghan shares with Harry, 40, their expansive backyard was on full display.
“These trees were here before we moved in,” Meghan said, while taking viewers on a tour of the greenery. “They’re Fuji apples, Anna apples. We make a lot of applesauce, a lot of apple butter and share a lot of apples.”
She continued, “My grandma used to make apple butter. For me, once we had this plethora of apples, it was, ‘Can we bring back some of those small rituals?’”
Harry did not appear on camera this season, but two of the couple’s dogs did. Both Guy (who died in January) and Mia were seen outside with Meghan.
“Come on, Mia. Slow and steady, Guy,” she said. “Let’s go to work.”
Us Weekly confirmed in January that Meghan opted to film the Netflix series in a rented Montecito home just down the street from where she and Harry live with their two kids, Archie, 6 and Lilibet, 4.
“I wanted to protect that safe haven,” Meghan explained to People in March. “We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments — putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day.”
She added, “Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house!”
Meghan and Harry relocated to Montecito in 2020 after stepping down from the royal family. While their real home wasn’t used as the show’s background, Meghan told People earlier this year that her family was always on set.
“[The kids] would also come with my husband and visit me on set, and I loved that my children were able to watch me working and see the balance of that and understand what Mama does and is working to create and share,” she said at the time. “It was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work.”
All episodes of With Love, Meghan are now streaming on Netflix.
