One of last year’s best horror movies is slated to make its Hulu debut later this month, and it’s a title you can’t miss.
Good Boy was one of the indie horror breakout hits, and it’s one of Watch With Us‘ picks for the three great horror movies to watch on Hulu, HBO Max and Netflix in April 2026.
The second pick in this month’s roundup is a classic title from one of the most acclaimed directors in the genre.
And our final selection is a 2026 horror flick that’s a sequel to the film that revitalized zombies on the big screen.
‘Good Boy’ (2025)
There have been over 100 years of cinema, but Good Boy just might be the very first horror movie that takes place almost entirely from the perspective of a dog. Director and cowriter Ben Leonberg cast his own dog, Indy, as the lead canine in this film. Indy and his owner, Todd (Shane Jensen), move into a remote cabin because the latter’s health is failing. Between the two, Indy is the only one who can perceive that something malevolent is in the cabin with them.
That’s the inherent problem facing Indy in the film. He can’t simply tell Todd about the disturbing things he sees and hears. And anytime Indy freaks out, Todd assumes it’s a behavioral issue. Todd’s grandfather (Larry Fessenden) died in this house, and so did his dog. Somehow, Indy has to make sure that he and Todd don’t meet the same fate.
Good Boy will stream on Hulu on April 25.
‘Cronos’ (1993)
The very first movie by Guillermo del Toro was a Mexican horror film called Cronos, and it was quite a debut for the director. The late Federico Luppi led the cast as Jesús Gris, an antiques dealer who has discovered a device created centuries earlier by an alchemist that can prolong life. It’s the closest thing that anyone has found to immortality, but it extracts a monstrous price. Jesús displays vampire-like symptoms, including an aversion to sunlight and a thirst for blood.
His granddaughter, Aurora Gris (Tamara Shanath), notices changes in Jesús’ behavior over time. But the real threat to his continued existence comes from a wealthy businessman, Dieter de la Guardia (Claudio Brook), and his nephew, Angel de la Guardia (Ron Perlman). Dieter knows about the device and wants it more than anything, and Angel has been ordered to kill anyone who stands in the way of that goal.
Cronos is streaming on HBO Max.
’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ (2026)
It’s probably a good idea to watch 28 Years Later before catching 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. The good news is that both films are on Netflix and can be viewed back-to-back. Nearly three decades after the rage virus decimated the United Kingdom, Dr Ian Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) has made an extraordinary discovery while befriending Samson (Chi Lewis-Parry), one of the infected. It’s possible that the rage virus may be treatable after all.
The infected remain dangerous, but Spike (Alfie Williams) has bigger issues to deal with. Spike’s life was saved by Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell), but the latter is a lunatic who is leading a group of Satan worshipers. If Spike wants to stay alive long enough to escape this group, then he’s going to have to learn how to kill at a moment’s notice.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is streaming on Netflix.
