The Bachelor’s Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar are looking forward to the day when they become parents.
“We’re so excited to start our family,” Biggar, 30, exclusively shared with Us Weekly while attending iHeartRadio 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball on Friday, December 5. “I think we’re focusing right now on the house. We’re building a home, so it’s gonna be ready in June or July, and then probably around then, we’re gonna start cooking one up.”
Shallcross, 29, added, “We’re open about it. We’re excited. Next year.”
The couple first met while filming season 27 of The Bachelor in 2022. Shallcross proposed to Biggar during the March 2023 finale before getting married in May 2025.
Instead of a lavish or even televised ceremony, the couple opted for an intimate ceremony at a Texas chapel with less than 10 family members as witnesses.
“I got a wedding dress, and it honestly turned out amazing,” Biggar recalled of the private event. “I couldn’t have painted a better picture of how great it went and what I envisioned. We focused on the love, the intimacy and our family, and that was beautiful.”
As Biggar and Shallcross continue enjoying newlywed life in Austin, Texas, both parties are confident they have chosen a partner who would make a great parent.

“For Kaity, I know she’ll be a great mom because she does have such attention and care for people that she loves,” Shallcross gushed to Us from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. “She’s always thinking of others. She thinks of others before herself, and I know that she’ll do that with our future kids.”
Biggar complimented her husband’s “big heart” and for always being “generous and selfless.”
“I could go on and on about all the qualities that would make you a phenomenal dad,” she added. “He’s just sweet. He’s patient. You’re understanding. You’re amazing.”
The couple’s latest trip to Los Angeles comes just weeks after they threw a special wedding celebration with family and friends.
Joey Graziadei, Kelsey Anderson, Charity Lawson, Dotun Olubeko, Susie Evans and Kathy Swarts were just some of the Bachelor Nation members who headed to Tiger Lilly in Austin to celebrate the bride and groom.
In an Instagram post, Bigger called it one of the “most special weekends of our lives.”
“I think some of our normal family and friends got a little weird with the Bachelor friends,” Biggar also joked to Us. “Some people got a little nervous.”
Shallcross added, “Everyone became friends at the end of it. People were fanboying.”
While ABC’s former Bachelor may have been born and raised in Orange County, California, he’s excited to keep making memories with his wife in Texas. With a honeymoon also on the horizon, the best may be yet to come.
“I’m always an OC guy at heart, but when we met on the show, we’d both already been living in Austin at that point,” he explained to Us. “I’ve got a great community previous to The Bachelor, and now we’ve grown a community there with tons of good friends, and it’s like, we’ve got something great here.”
