Carey Hart thanked his wife Pink for her support after a gruesome injury where he “severed [his] small intestine from his colon.”
“Welp, I ran out of talent,” the motocross and off-road truck racer, 49, joked via Instagram on Saturday, May 17. “I had a pretty nasty get off, practicing [motocross] Thursday morning. Landed off a jump, bars knifed, and took the bar to the gut while going over the bars. As I understand it, severed my small intestine from my colon. I’m fine and will recover from this.”
Hart shared a carousel of photos from the aftermath of his injury, including showing off a bandage that runs from above his navel to the bottom of his stomach. He credited his good friend, musician Big B, with “talking [him] into going to the ER” after his accident.
“A huge thanks to @pink,” he added. “As [she] always does in these situations w/ me, she steps up and takes charge at the hospital. Sorry to put you through this, yet again 🤣. Thanks [children] Willz and Jamo for coming to visit today.”
He then vowed, “Gonna rest up this week, and start the healing process. ***sorry to everyone I ghosted over the last couple days. There was a good reason for it 🤣🤣. I’m gonna take a few days off, and I’ll catch up with everyone next week.”
Hart received numerous well-wishes for a speedy recovery from many of his famous friends, including getting encouragement from his Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test costar Trista Sutter.
“Thank God you’re ok!!!! That scar is one for the Carey Hart story book,” Sutter joked via Instagram.
Sutter and Hart’s fellow Special Forces costar Kyla Pratt offered her support as well, writing, “Omg Carey wtf 😭😣 be careful man. Speedy Recovery.”

The motocross star was forced to withdraw from Fox’s Special Forces on medical grounds earlier this year after slipping on a speed bump in the mud during a challenge. He later exclusively told Us Weekly that it was disappointing to break the news about his injury to Pink, 45.
“I FaceTimed her that night. At the moment I got hurt, it was probably around midnight,” he told Us. “So by the time I made it back to the hotel and got my phone out of the safe and all the things, it was probably 3 o’clock in the morning U.K. time.”
He went on, “She’d known the period of the time of the show and probably in the back of her mind, she knows anytime my phone’s going to ring before that last day, I’m going to be [hurt]. So her initial [reaction] — she was wide-eyed, kind of white as a ghost, asking, ‘Are you alright?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, it’s just my old body.’”
Hart called his Special Forces injury “so dumb” and admitted he was entirely to blame for the mishap.
“It’s my own fault that that happened. We were running this brutal workout through the mud holes and into the splash pond and all these things,” he told Us. “It was absolutely freezing outside. I got hurt because I wasn’t paying attention,” “
Hart continued, “In the prior exercises, we had to do two laps around the compound and back into the square. Well, in that certain situation, I think that was the second or third round — [and] I’m not a great runner. The DS said, ‘OK, go out, do one loop around and pull back in.’ I wasn’t paying attention. I went for the full two laps. Well, it was the second lap I actually tripped. … So had I been paying attention, I would’ve advanced and not been in that situation.”
Influencer Kayla Nicole and Brody Jenner were the only Special Forces celebrity contestants to pass the grueling selection process during season three.
Pink and Hart tied the knot at the Four Seasons hotel and resort in Costa Rica in January 2007. They share two children — Willow Sage, born 2011, and Jameson, born 2016.
