Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have been married for 25 years — but that doesn’t mean the Welsh actress is combing through his new memoir, One Helluva Ride.

“Look, I’ve just finished Wednesday season 3,” Zeta-Jones, 57, said on the Thursday, October 8, episode of Today, revealing that she has yet to read Douglas’ book, which was released earlier this week. “We shot in Dublin for seven months and then I literally got on a RyanAir plane and landed in London, did all of the Kill Jackie stuff. Then, I went to Spain and now I’m here talking to you, Willie [Geist], on the fabulous Today show.”

Due to her busy work schedule, Zeta-Jones noted that she has “no intention” to even skim through her husband’s memoir.

“As much as I love my husband, when I’m tired at night, I have no intention of reading about him — at all,” she quipped. “Everyone else should. The book is called One Helluva Ride, and I think everyone should hold onto their cowboy hats because I think it is [a ride].”

Michael Douglas‘ romantic history spans four decades of Hollywood, from his first marriage to Diandra Luker and quietly conducted relationships with high-profile costars to his enduring union with Catherine Zeta-Jones. Among the women tied to Douglas over the years are Romancing the Stone costar Kathleen Turner and Basic Instinct castmate Jeanne Tripplehorn — two relationships […]

In One Helluva Ride, Douglas, 82, chronicled his decades in the spotlight and his various star-studded relationships. The MCU star revealed that while separated from first wife Diandra Luker, he secretly dated costars Kathleen Turner and Jeanne Tripplehorn.

“Kathleen was smart, funny and sexy with a deep, sultry voice that became her signature,” he wrote of Turner, 72, and their experience filming 1984’s Romancing the Stone. “I instantly liked her, and we were immediately attracted to each other. … We found each other first as friends, then as costars, and finally, as lovers.”

While Douglas and Turner had long hid their brief romance, he noted in the book that the fling came to an end when Luker brought son Cameron, then 5, to visit his dad.

“After that visit, Kathleen and I ended things, and I went back to Diandra,” he recalled in a passage. “I did it for Cameron, but we shouldn’t have gotten back together. After that first split, it was never the same between us ever again.”

Eight years later, Douglas romanced Tripplehorn, 63, when they costared in 1992’s Basic Instinct.

“The truth is, I fell very hard for Jeanne despite our nearly 20-year age difference,” he wrote in another chapter. “In fact, I was ready to officially leave my wife for Jeanne. I was crazy about her. My relationship with Jeanne lasted through production, then we went our separate ways. I will always think of her as an amazing actress and a truly terrific woman that I was very fortunate to spend time with.”

Douglas had received blessings from his exes to share their history prior to publication.

“I didn’t name anybody for the sake of notches on your holster or something like that,” Douglas told People in a profile earlier this month. “These are people that I’ve had relationships with in my life.”
