Dancing With the Stars’ Tyler Cameron and fiancée Tate Madden had double cause for celebration as they got engaged and found out they were having a baby in quick succession.
The Bachelor Nation alum, 33, and Madden revealed her pregnancy in epic fashion on DWTS’ Dedication Night episode on Tuesday, October 20.
In a subsequent interview with People, the couple revealed that they found out about their impending first child together shortly after Cameron popped the question. (Cameron proposed to Madden in Little Palm Island, Florida, earlier this year, and the couple announced the news in mid-August.)
“The night we got back from getting engaged, I took the [pregnancy] test,” Madden recalled.
Upon seeing the positive test result, Madden said she went up to her new fiancé and said, “You’re not going to believe this.”
“We’ve been in a whirlwind ever since we found out,” Cameron said, noting that he had to miss Madden’s first ultrasound appointment due to rehearsals for Dancing With the Stars.
“Tate brought me a picture of the ultrasound to New York City when I finally got to see her again,” he shared. “Seeing that picture was when it really, really was real for me. Like, ‘Oh, my God, we’re doing this. We’re having a baby.’ It was just an amazing moment.”
Cameron and Madden announced their baby news on Tuesday as the Bachelorette alum and professional dance partner Sharna Burgess performed a contemporary dance, which they dedicated to mothers around the world.
“You would’ve loved the woman I’m gonna marry,” Cameron said in a voiceover dedicated to his late mother, Andrea. “All the things that made you sepcial, I found in her. She’s gonna be the most incredible mama, just like you. And we’re gonna have a baby. I can’t believe I’m gonna be a dad. Wish you were here, hope that I make you proud. I love you and I miss you every day.”
Cameron and Madden also revealed the baby’s gender as pink confetti erupted in the ballroom, confirming that they were having a girl.
“I get to be a girl dad. What a gift, what an opportunity,” Cameron said on the episode.
Cameron and Madden have been dating since 2024. Earlier this year, he paid tribute to his fiancée in an Instagram post to mark Madden’s 33rd birthday.
“To my lovely fiancé, I would like to wish you a happy 33rd birthday,” he captioned a series of photos of them together. “You are the greatest multiplier of my life. You have given me so much love, so much life, so much fun, and so much peace.”
He added, “You have made my life so much more than I could have ever imagined. I am so lucky to call you my fiancé, and soon call you my wife. Never change. Never dim that light. Can’t wait to spend many more birthdays with you! I love you, my lady 😘.”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
