Hilary Duff opened up about leaning on Cameron Diaz for help amid the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires.
In a clip from an upcoming Friday, March 6, episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Duff, 38, shared, per E! News, “Your dear friend Cam, they were lovely enough to let our entire family stay in their house.” (Host Drew Barrymore, 51, and Diaz, 53, have been close friends for over three decades.)
The Lizzie McGuire star also got candid about feeling “tension” with husband Matthew Koma during the stressful time, which required them to evacuate their house.
“Matt and I — the tension. We had been kicked out of our house and the fires were just everywhere,” she explained, detailing an argument where she tossed his phone into a prickly plant.
“It was a bougainvillea and I was so proud of myself because those are sharp,” she laughed. “I was like, ‘Go fishing off the balcony.’”
Barrymore also praised Diaz and her husband, Benji Madden, for taking in the singer, Koma, 38, and their kids, Banks, 7, Mae, 4, Townes, 21 months, along with Luca, 13, whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
“[They’re] the best people,” Barrymore said.
Duff and Koma aren’t the only stars who ran into a hiccup while navigating the Los Angeles fires. Taylor Swift hilariously opened up about the time Zoë Kravitz’s mom, Lisa Bonet, lost a pet snake in her house during an October 2025 appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
“I remember getting a call from my head of security and him trying to explain this story to me,” Swift recalled. “My first question was, ‘What snake?’ I was unaware of the presence of the snake on the premises.”
She continued, “I found myself listening to this and I’m like, ‘OK, so Zoë Kravitz and Lisa Bonet are holding onto a Burmese Python. It’s halfway in the wall. There’s a man standing with an ax who has just chopped up a custom vintage antique cupboard.’”
Swift joked that the situation sounded more like a “YSL ad” and “not a problem.”
She went on to say that she knew Kravitz, 37, wouldn’t tell her about the situation until it was “fixed.”
Three weeks later, which was the exact “amount of time it took to fix the damaged cupboard,” Kravitz finally told Swift about the loose snake, thinking she was still left in the dark.
