Whether you love to hate them or hate to love them, Olivia Jade Giannulli and Jacob Elordi have been making headlines for years. Yes, you read that right. Similar to what you see on SpongeBob SquarePants, we are reaching “five years later” territory.
The Euphoria star and YouTuber were first spotted out together in December 2021, causing some people to scour the background of her vlogs for an Elordi-sized shadow. The years that followed consisted of five breakups, five reconciliations and tons of low-key outings in between. (Lest we forget those vacations Elordi took with Giannulli and her family!)
Most recently, it was reported in January 2026 that Elordi and Giannulli were back on again, le sigh, and it definitely raised some eyebrows. But, don’t expect to get any answers from the actor any time soon.
When asked about her personal life back in 2023, Elordi told GQ, “I appreciate you giving me the space,” not taking the bait to offer any clarification about him and Giannulli.

December 19, 2021 marked the first day that romance rumors between Giannulli and Elordi started swirling. They lasted a total of 243 days before Us confirmed on August 19, 2022 that they had split.
A source told Us at the time that Giannulli was “single and having fun” while Elordi was “completely focused” on his career.
September 2022 – February 2023
Their breakup didn’t last too long, though, because 35 days later the Daily Mail published photos of them hanging out on September 23, 2022.
On February 28, 2023, a total of 158 days after they got back together, J-14 broke the news that Elordi and Giannulli had split once again.
“They were going around in circles — with their fighting, breaking up, making up, getting back together and then breaking up again,” a source told the publication. “It was like something you see in high school.”
May 2023 – January 2024
They were only apart for 70 days before photos of them packing on the PDA hit the internet on May 9, 2023. Just Jared published photos of Elordi with his arms around Giannulli.
Elordi and Giannulli hit their longest stretch — 253 days! — before Us broke the news on January 17, 2024, that they had split again.
September 2024 – August 2025
After 244 days apart, Elordi and Giannulli were seen publicly on September 17, 2024, sparking reconciliation rumors.
The duo tried to keep things going for nearly a year and went 325 days between their September 17, 2024 reconciliation and the August 8, 2025 news that they had broken up.

Despite the summer 2025 split, Giannulli and Elordi nearly took things to the red carpet 31 days later when she was spotted at the Frankenstein premiere at TIFF on September 8, 2025.
It only took 52 days for news to break that Elordi and Giannulli had called things off once again. Us broke the news on October 30, 2025 that this might be the final straw.
“It was very short-lived, and they were seeing each other for about a month before they figured out it wasn’t working again,” a source shared. “Olivia has been in NYC and Jacob has been filming, and has his home base in L.A., so distance was a factor.”
