Influencer Ashley Jones practiced witchcraft — spells and all — for nearly a decade.

“Zodiac signs was the first one because it was so widely accepted by everyone,” Jones, 27, said on the Monday, September 8, episode of Madi Prewett’s “Stay True” podcast. “I mean, everyone knows their zodiac sign. I grew up in the ‘90s with, like, Capricorn shirts and that just was so widely accepted.”

According to Jones, she said that she “bought into” the premise of zodiac signs after believing that her own horoscope was “so accurate.”

“That was definitely the opening door for me,” Jones said, agreeing with Prewett, 29, that zodiac signs and enneagram personality types are “demonic.”

It hasn’t been easy, but Bethany Joy Lenz has managed to reestablish her connection with faith after a decade in a religious cult. “I was done. I walked out of that group and I questioned everything — my whole upbringing, all religions,” Lenz, 43, told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview ahead of the Tuesday, […]

After diving into horoscopes, Jones started looking into birth charts and moon phases while on her inner journey of “finding out more of who [she] was.”

“I [was] venturing into the ‘innocent things,’ like crystals and manifestation and the law of attraction,” Jones recalled. “It so quickly started to enthrall me in a way where I was, like, ‘Why does no one talk about how real this is?’ … I was getting so enamored with the power that was in that stuff.”

Jones’ grandmother, who was also very spiritual and self-identified as a “good witch,” eventually provided the influencer with her own book of spells.

“She gave me my first spell book when I was 15, and it said, ‘Good Spells and Fortunes’ on it,” Jones said. “Even the book said, ‘good light,’ [which] is just covered in deceit. I took it home, and I was, like, ‘Great.’ The first spell I remember ever doing was a money spell on a full moon.”

By the time Jones was 23, she had an epiphany about her spirituality.

In a Thursday, August 1 interview on the Zach Sang Show, the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star, 23, recounted a transformative experience during an ayahuasca trip that profoundly changed his outlook on life. Bassett prefaced the story by explaining that he has […]

“I am manifesting my dream life, driving a luxury car, flying every other week, going to these crazy locations [and] have so much money, more than I know what to do with,” she said. “I have a different boyfriend [before I met my now-husband]. We’re living together, have a nice house. Anything and everything that the world would think leads to happiness, I had it.”

Despite her worldly possessions, Jones felt incredibly depressed and anxious.

“I was, like, ‘I don’t want to be here anymore. I don’t know how to get out of this,’” Jones recalled. “I just felt, like, I was going to try and pray one time. … I mean, [up until this point], I was seeing and hearing stuff every single day, seeing demons, hearing them. I didn’t know what was real and what wasn’t.”

Jones, who grew up practicing Christianity, prayed for the first time while driving home.

“I said, ‘God, there’s no way you’re real because if you were real and if you actually loved me like the church told me you did, my life would not look this way,’” she told Prewett. “I said, ‘If you’re real, prove it.’ And this truck pulled out in front of me. … I had to slam on my brakes and there was a trailer behind this truck with probably a 20-foot wooden cross on it. I was like, ‘I will literally never ask that again.’”

When Jones returned home, she prayed again, this time out loud.

“I was on the floor, sobbing. All I could say was, ‘Please help me,’” she said. “I was begging over and over again. … It was the most desperate I’d ever been in my life. It was probably, like, 20 minutes of that, and all of a sudden it just felt, like, physically [I got] a hug around me.”
