Jill Zarin is speaking out after her controversial review of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 2026 performance resulted in her being fired from E!’s upcoming Real Housewives of New York City reunion series, titled The Golden Life.

“They didn’t even give me a chance,” Zarin, 62, told In Touch in a Tuesday, February 10, statement about the review, which was posted to her social media accounts before the reality TV star took it down. “I took it down right away. People make mistakes. I’m human.”

News broke on Tuesday, February 10, that Zarin, 62, would no longer be filming The Golden Life with her costars, including Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan.

“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life,” producers said in a statement to Us Weekly. “We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”

The Real Housewives of New York City premiered in 2008, but not every Housewife has gone the distance. The season 1 cast of RHONY included Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Bethenny Frankel, Jill Zarin and Alex McCord. While Kelly Killoren Bensimon joined the cast during season 2, Sonja Morgan became a full-time cast member during […]

The decision came after Zarin publicly criticized Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance on Sunday, February 8.

In a since-deleted video, Zarin described the record-breaking show as “the worst halftime show ever.”

“I just don’t think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish, and, quite frankly … grabbing his G [groin] area … I think it was totally inappropriate. You’ve got all these young kids watching the Super Bowl, and he doesn’t have to be grabbing himself every five seconds because he’s so insecure. Seriously,” she claimed. “I don’t speak Spanish. I would’ve liked to have known the words he was saying. To me, it looked like a political statement because there were literally no white people in the entire thing. I’m not taking a side, one way or the other … I think it was an ICE thing. I think that the NFL sold out, and it’s very sad.”

During his performance, Bad Bunny surprised the audience with special guests, including Ricky Martin, Jessica Alba, Pedro Pascal and Lady Gaga.

In the final moments of his show, the Grammy winner also held a football that read, “Together, We Are America.”

Zarin’s comments quickly got the Internet talking, with many disagreeing with the reality star’s assessment.

The View ladies criticized Zarin’s remarks during a “Hot Topics” segment on the show.

Other Real Housewives, including Bethenny Frankel, Lisa Rinna and Tamra Judge, expressed how much they enjoyed the show.

Zarin’s own daughter, Ally Shapiro, chose to defend Bad Bunny’s performance.

One of the most talked-about and widely covered halftime performances in Super Bowl history took place this Sunday, February 8. “Qué rico es ser latino,” Bad Bunny declared at the very start of the show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. What followed were 13 minutes filled with symbolism, history, folklore and flavor — […]

“IMO I loved it [so much],” Shapiro, 32, wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, February 9, alongside a clip from the show. “The cinematography was fantastic. It was like they put filter over it. It looked like a film. Best halftime show in years. Which honestly is weird to even call it that it was like a true performance with a story line and actors and the direction, lighting everything was perfect.”

The Golden Life is expected to continue with de Lesseps, 60, Singer, 69, Bensimon, 57, and Morgan, 62, as they reunite their formerly NYC-based friend group in Palm Beach, Florida.

The 10-episode series is set to start filming this spring in South Florida.
