Two months ago, Bad Bunny lit up the Super Bowl halftime show with a symbolic performance in California, name-checking Latin American countries with commanding pride. Over the weekend, it was Karol G’s turn to deliver a performance that will go down in Coachella history.

It took 27 years for a Latin artist to headline the festival. Over the course of nearly two hours, Karol G delivered one of the longest sets ever at Coachella, packed with multiple guest appearances and a string of her biggest hits.

Her presence also comes amid a much-discussed moment in her personal life. The Colombian star recently posed for Playboy, embracing a bolder image, and opened up about her split from singer Feid. “I’m letting go of everything. I’m single, and my most transformative moments have been when I’m alone,” she said — a statement that sparked mixed reactions among fans.

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau had a date night to remember at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. “Heat checkin’ these chickens,” Perry, 41, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, April 11, sharing a handful of moments from the night before at the music festival. ‘Latina Foreva’

The show opened with a cinematic video telling the story of an untamed young woman, setting the tone for the night with a powerful message: “Always wild, always free, Latina forever.”

The stage — designed to look like a neon-lit cave — then revealed the singer as she launched into “Latina Foreva,” instantly igniting the crowd. Karol G delivered not only a visually stunning show but an emotional one as well.

Karol G in Gold

The 35-year-old leaned into her signature sensuality while showcasing her high-energy stage presence, performing perfectly synchronized choreography alongside her dancers.

She ran through tracks from her latest era, including “Un Gatito Me Llamó” and “Oki Doki” — the latter from Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season). For this segment, she wore a striking gold outfit that matched the show’s “primal” aesthetic.

During “El Makinón,” Karol G brought out collaborator Mariah Angeliq and addressed the crowd for the first time — in Spanish and with warmth. “Family, how are you? I missed you so much. I don’t know if you were as nervous as I was,” she said, acknowledging the massive audience.

She followed it up with “S91,” one of her most popular tracks, inspired by Psalm 91 from the Bible.

‘Raise Your Flags’

Gold bikinis and textures soon gave way to flowing skirts, open shirts, fans and vibrant color. With her outfit, Karol G quite literally carried Colombia with her — and took a moment to deliver one of the night’s most powerful speeches.

“This isn’t just about me — it’s about my Latin community, it’s about my people,” said the singer, also known as La Bichota, referencing the “legendary Latin artists” who performed at Coachella before her.

“At the same time, this is for my Latinos who have been going through tough times in this country. We stand strong for them. I stand strong for my community, and I’m proud because this brings out the best in us — unity, resilience and strength,” added the singer, whose real name is Carolina Giraldo.

She then invited the crowd to celebrate Latin culture and asked attendees to raise their countries’ flags with pride. “We want everyone to feel welcome — to our culture, our roots, our music,” she said. “Be proud of where you come from. Don’t be afraid — raise your flags.”

Her ‘Tropicoqueta’ Era and a Ranchera Tribute

For the second half of the show, Karol G stunned with a dramatic outfit change. She appeared riding a giant macaw and wearing a tropical, showgirl-inspired look: feathered headdress, blue crop top and a ruffled skirt.

With this aesthetic, she performed “Tropicoqueta,” commanding the stage alongside more than a dozen dancers.

One of the night’s most celebrated moments, a tribute to Mexican music, followed. She performed “La Negra” and “Ese Hombre Es Malo” alongside an all-female mariachi group, wearing a blue ensemble that struck an emotional chord.

Another surprise came with Becky G, who joined her onstage for their 2022 hit “Mamiii.” The Mexican American singer wore an aqua-toned bikini top and flared pants, channeling Caribbean-inspired glamour.

There are only three things that are certain in life: death, taxes and celebrities coupling up at the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Special Guests Who Took the Show to the Next Level

The energy soared with the arrival of Wisin, as the two performed reggaeton classics like “Rakata” and “Pam Pam,” sending the crowd into a frenzy with early-2000s hits.

A more intimate moment came when Karol G was joined by Greg Gonzalez of Cigarettes After Sex. Together, they debuted a new, unreleased track. According to the singer, she wrote it just a couple of months ago and realized after sharing it with her inner circle that “it belongs more to others than it does to me.”

“One more day I wake up, I eat and it tastes like nothing / Since you’ve been gone, life’s been complicated / It’s so hard to focus, I can’t sleep / My friends see me, ask about you — and I don’t know what to say anymore, I’m tired of lying,” read lyrics of the song, titled “Después De Ti.”

The emotional ballad immediately sparked speculation among fans, with many linking it to Feid, from whom she reportedly split from in late 2025 (though the news wasn’t confirmed until January).

A Nostalgic Finale

To close out a historic night, Karol G paid tribute to Latin music legends. Snippets of “La Murga” by Willie Colón and “Rompe” by Daddy Yankee played, while she also performed “Mi Tierra” by Gloria Estefan.

Karol G turned her Coachella 2026 performance into much more than a concert — it was a celebration of Latin culture and music on one of the world’s biggest stages, cementing her status as one of the most influential artists of her generation.
