Even the New York Times is worried that the Democratic blue wave is not really going to pan out in the midterms 18 days from now. In fact, their piece this morning is headlined: “Democrats Worry That a Few Senate Races in Bluer States Aren’t Slam Dunks.” Of course they cite Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, Troy Jackson in Maine, Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota. Yet they left a few out.

James Talarico in Texas who is against oil and gas drilling, and raising cattle or beef meals. Apart from his gender confusion regarding the Lord and the Bible.

And at last night’s debate, the former Alaska Congresswoman, Mary Peltola, fell on her sword when she was answering debate questions with Senator Dan Sullivan (the real Dan Sullivan), by reading off of index cards in full view, which means that either A) she doesn’t know the issue, or B) she got fed the questions ahead of time. Anyway, Mr. Sullivan whooped her in the debate, on the merits. You know why? Because she’s against fossil fuels, which is the Alaskan cash crop.

The Wall Street Journal’s Kim Strassel wrote about it today: “Alaska Considers Economic Suicide.” Basically, under the Biden years, with Ms. Peltola’s support, Democrats banned oil and gas leases, mining projects, timber harvests, stopped new roads, cut back on defense. No oil and gas leases offshore. No national petroleum reserve. No liquefied natural gas money. No oil or gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Plus a voting record of chronic absenteeism. And even away from Alaska, remember, the Bidens killed the Keystone Pipeline. There’s another reason why the Republicans are going to win these blue states and red state Senate races, that by the way, right now, are complete toss-ups, even with phony polls that bias the numbers.

Speaker Newt Gingrich and I have been talking about so-called Democratic affordability, and the big government socialist mantra of medicare for all, which basically means if you like your healthcare plan, you won’t be able to keep it. Some 160 million Americans have employer-based healthcare and they like it, but they would lose it under the socialist proposal to nationalize the healthcare system.

The Council of Economic Advisers estimates that to cost roughly $50 trillion over 10 years. Perhaps even worse, piling insult onto injury, is that the Abdul El-Sayeds of the world want free healthcare for all illegal immigrants.

Not only that, they would get benefits for federal programs like SNAP, housing assistance, and Medicaid. So that’s at least another trillion dollars by my lights. So let’s get this right. Affordability means about $10 a gallon for gas. And probably ending gas powered cars. And more than $50 trillion for illegals and state run healthcare. Affordability? You must be kidding. That’s why the Republicans may have a better shot than the Democrats.
