Lauren Sánchez expanded her family when she tied the knot with Jeff Bezos in 2025.
While celebrating her marriage to the Amazon founder in Venice, Sánchez made sure to appoint her three children with special roles: her sons walked her down the aisle while her daughter served as her maid of honor.
Before exchanging vows with Bezos, Sánchez was in a relationship with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez in the early 2000s. The pair welcomed son Nikko in 2001 before calling it quits one year later. Sánchez went on to marry businessman Patrick Whitesell in 2005, welcoming son Evan and daughter Ella in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Sánchez and Whitesell later split. (Bezos, for his part, has four children with ex-wife MacKenzie Scott.)
“On a typical Saturday, we hang out, we have dinner with the kids,” Sánchez reflected to The Wall Street Journal in 2023 of her blended family with Bezos, “which is always fun because you never know where the conversation is going to go with this many kids.”

Tony Gonzalez
Despite Gonzalez and Sánchez’s split in 2002, the exes have remained on friendly terms while coparenting son Nikko. He has since tied the knot with his now-wife, October Gonzalez.
“Tony and his wife are my best friends,” she told The Wall Street Journal in 2023. “It wasn’t always that way. There was friction [at the beginning]. But Tony and Tobie were at Thanksgiving with us [this year], and we’re really good friends.”
Sánchez noted that it took “about five years” for the coparenting families to be at the place they are at now.
“I’m not saying that being best friends with your ex is the end-all be-all. But you do need to be able to communicate,” she continued. “I’m so proud of it. My son looks at me, and he’s like, “I’m the luckiest boy in the world because I can have Thanksgiving with both my parents and they don’t have to be married.”
Sánchez included October in her star-studded May 2025 bachelorette party ahead of marrying Bezos. Sánchez and Bezos also invited Tony and October to their June 2025 wedding.

Sánchez and Patrick welcomed son Evan in 2006. Before Sánchez married Bezos in 2025, the couple threw a foam party for Evan’s birthday on their $500 million superyacht. Evan later walked Sánchez down the aisle with brother Nikko.
Ella Whitesell
Sánchez and Patrick added daughter Ella to their family in 2008. She served as the maid of honor of Sánchez’s wedding to Bezos in 2025.
