Dancing With the Stars alum Lindsay Arnold is getting real about the highs and lows of her pregnancy.
“Things have been awesome, but it’s been interesting,” Arnold, 31, said in a Tuesday, November 25, TikTok video. “With both Sage and June’s pregnancies, I had what’s called a subchorionic hematoma, where essentially you have a blood clot in your uterus.”
She continued, “It will release during those first couple weeks [and] months of pregnancy, and you bleed a lot. It’s scary because you’re just bleeding in early pregnancy.”
Arnold and her husband, Sam Cusick, welcomed daughters Sage and June in 2020 and 2023, respectively. The married couple announced on Monday, November 24, that they’re expecting their third baby.
While Arnold acknowledged that bleeding is never a good sign, the subchorionic hematomas have been “pretty harmless” in her case.
“I’ve had that happen two times now [on] two separate occasions where I bleed quite a bit for a period of time,” she said. “Because this happened to me so many times, I feel pretty confident and OK about it, but it’s still something [where] you’re like, ‘I think everything’s OK but you never know.’”
According to Arnold, fears over developing another hematoma have been her “only hiccups in the road” during the early stage of her current pregnancy.
“Like I said, it’s something that I’m used to because it happened before,” the former dance pro stressed. “Both times everything was OK [and] basically I just had to pass that blood clot, and then everything was good.”
Arnold further revealed that “baby is good” and that she and Cusick, 31, have yet to find their little one’s sex.
“We haven’t found out the gender yet, [but] we will find out,” she added. “We’ll share with you guys, but we don’t know yet. I think I’m going to find out within the next two weeks.”
Arnold also explained that she’s felt similarly as she did when she was pregnant with her eldest daughters.
“I don’t feel 100 percent, but I don’t feel miserable either,” Arnold said. “I think the biggest symptom is that I get tired in the afternoons. I’m really trying to stay strong and keeping up with my morning workouts and get into that session. For me, mentally, it’s just the best thing ever.”
She added, “Moving my body consistently throughout pregnancy is going to be so, so beneficial. I will say, I’m not as energetic as I was before pregnancy. I am sort of hitting a wall in the afternoons, and a little bit of nausea throughout the day. As long as I keep snacking throughout the day, I feel pretty good.”
Arnold’s due date is in the middle of June.
“We’re going to have a summer baby, which is fun,” she gushed on Tuesday. “June is kind of a summer baby because her birthday is in May. I did like that timing a lot, [and] I’m just so excited that I can talk about this with you all!”
Arnold and Cusick, who have been married since June 2015, started trying to expand their family earlier this year.
