The final episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 1 has arrived, and the story is over for now.

Thankfully, Daredevil: Born Again will return for season 2 at some point in 2026. But what are you going to watch in the meantime?

Marvel’s first Daredevil series is the obvious answer, and that show is streaming on Disney+ as well.

But if you want even more hard-hitting superhero action, these are the five shows to tide you over after watching Daredevil: Born Again season 1.

Nearly eight years passed between the end of Daredevil season 3 and the premiere of the revival series, Daredevil: Born Again. Fortunately, there won’t be an extended wait between Born Again season 1 and season 2. But before Daredevil goes on hiatus again, there’s one last episode of Born Again to enjoy. There aren’t any […]

‘The Punisher’ (2017 – 2019)

The Punisher wasn’t originally part of Marvel’s four series deal with Netflix, but Jon Bernthal’s performance as the title character was so popular that he got his own spinoff from Daredevil. In his first solo series, Frank Castle (Bernthal) thought his vendetta against his family’s murderers was over. Instead, it’s only just begun.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who will be appearing this summer as the Thing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, made his Marvel debut as David Lieberman, a former NSA operative who is one of Castle’s only allies. Somehow, they have to bring down a criminal conspiracy while eluding law enforcement officers at the same time.

‘The Defenders’ (2017)

What’s better than one Marvel street-level hero? All of them! The Defenders was the Avengers-style crossover that brought together Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) to face their common enemies.

Over five years ago, Disney+ debuted with the promise that it would keep subscribers swimming in new content from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic and Disney itself. In the half-decade since its launch, Disney+ has added older shows like The Simpsons and paired them with an all-new lineup of programs. Thank You! You have […]

Although the story doesn’t quite live up to the four shows that came before it, watching these heroes play off each other is a treat. The Defenders also ties up some loose ends from Daredevil season 2 as Matt Murdock’s lover, Elektra Natchios (Élodie Yung), is resurrected by the evil death cult known as The Hand in their bid for ultimate power.

‘Arrow’ (2012 – 2020)

The CW’s Arrow had a serious case of Dark Knight envy, especially in the early seasons that tried to recreate some of the tone of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies. This show never quite reached that level, but at its peak, Arrow had some intense action for a prime time series.

Stephen Amell stars as Oliver Queen, a rich kid who was seemingly lost on a deserted island for five years. Upon his return to civilization, Queen becomes a murderous vigilante determined to clean up his city one criminal at a time. The later seasons softened the impact of Arrow by building an entire universe of DC heroes around the title character. Regardless, this is a show that belongs on your watch list due to its compact storytelling, impressive worldbuilding and a fun cast.

‘Peacemaker’ (2022 – Present)

Peacemaker is the outlier on this list because its hero isn’t a serious vigilante like Daredevil or the Punisher. But there is plenty of R-rated action here, which is the only project from the old DC Extended Universe that is continuing in the new DC Universe continuity.

John Cena brings a surprisingly human touch to his title character, Christopher Smith. After his traumatic experience in The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker is so shellshocked that he doesn’t want to kill people anymore. That’s really bad timing because a new covert team needs Peacemaker to take out a threat that could conquer the planet.

‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ (2024 – Present)

Forget everything you knew about Batman: The Animated Series. Batman: Caped Crusader may share some stylistic similarities with that classic series, but this is the most mature Batman animated show in decades. This incarnation of Batman casts Hamish Linklater as the voice of Bruce Wayne and his alter ego, and the show re-imagines Gotham City in the 1940s.
