Influencer Paola Caldera has died following a battle with leukemia. She was 30.

“Today we bid farewell to a being who illuminated our lives with his strength, his love and her wisdom, even in the most difficult moments,” Caldera’s family shared via TikTok last week, confirming her death.

“Leukemia may have contained her physical presence, but never the mark she left on our hearts,” the family continued. “We are left with his example of courage, her infinite goodness and the memories that will always accompany us. Rest in peace, such a caldera your light will continue to shine in each of us.”

Caldera’s death came two years after she began documenting her life as a mother of two via social media. Since May 2023, Caldera amassed more than 100,000 followers on TikTok and her openness about her cancer battle drew even more online attention.

In September 2024, Caldera revealed via Instagram that she was “recently diagnosed” with Acute Lymphoid Leukemia and “immediately” started to fight to try and overcome the illness. According to the Mayo Clinic, Acute Lymphoid Leukemia is a rapidly progressing type of cancer that targets the blood and bone marrow, producing immature or non-functional blood cells.

She asked her social media followers “and anyone with a good heart” to donate to her GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay her medical bills.

“I am asking for your help in this fight that we will emerge victorious,” Caldera wrote at the time. “Every grain of sand, every donation will make a huge difference so my family can do what’s needed and focus on what’s most important, my recovery to soon be home healthy again.”

Over the next year, Caldera documented her ups and downs with leukemia, including hospital stays and sweet celebrations with her children — her boys were 8 and 3 at the time of her death — in between.
