Pregnant Dancing With the Stars pro Witney Carson has been emotional over her husband Carson McAllister and two sons’ return home amid her journey in the ballroom competition.

“It does get harder and harder, and, you know, obviously, being a mom comes first to me,” Carson, 32, exclusively told Us after the Tuesday, September 29, live broadcast. “All the hormones rushing through me also, I think, made it a little bit more intense.”

Shortly before Yacht Rock Night, Carson revealed via social media that McAllister, 33, and their two sons, Leo, 5, and Jet, 3, had left California for their Florida home. (The couple, who are currently expecting their third baby, relocated to the Sunshine State in 2023.)

“Honestly, I love what I do, and I am so grateful that I have a partner who is genuinely kind, who never gives up, and he’s just willing to learn,” Carson stressed of her celebrity partner, Guillermo Rodriguez. “He’s willing to put in the work, so it’s all worth it in the end. I’m just happy to be here.”

Despite Carson’s surging emotions, Rodriguez, 55, has been in her corner.

“You know what I tell her? ‘If you need a break, relax, and everything, like, you’re working a lot,’” the Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick revealed to Us. “Women are the best. Look, this is an example. She’s an example.”

In addition to doling out pearls of wisdom, Carson noted how Rodriguez recently brought her salsa.

“I was like, ‘I am craving your salsa,’ and he brought it for me,” the two-time mirrorball champ gushed. “It’s just little things like that. He’s always thinking of me.”

Carson and Rodriguez teamed up for a foxtrot set to Rupert Holmes’ “Escape (The Piña Colada Song)” on Tuesday. The routine, which earned a total score of 15 out of 30, ended with the TV star ripping open his shirt to reveal that he had written “Dancing 4 the People” on his stomach beneath a coconut bra.

For Witney Carson, navigating her third pregnancy and Dancing With the Stars season 35 rehearsals has been a proverbial walk in the park. “It’s honestly been OK,” Witney, 32, exclusively told Us while promoting her partnership with Chevron. “I feel like I’ve had a lot more energy than I did in my first trimester. “It was her idea because, you know, I [am] just having fun and I’m dancing for the people, so it’s good,” he told Us of Carson. “And the coconut too, you know, the coconut. It was her idea, and people love that, and it was great.”

Despite fan enthusiasm for Carson and Rodriguez’s performance, they ended up in the bottom three. The duo were ultimately declared safe when Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart were eliminated from the competition.

“We were so excited. I mean, it is so devastating because you’re saying goodbye to one of your really good friends, and so it’s that mixed emotion,” Carson told Us of making it to week four. “Every time we’ve been in the bottom three, someone’s been eliminated. That means we’ve gotten saved. You have those two different emotions, so obviously we’re very happy, but we’re really sad to see Britt and Taylor go too.”

Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
