The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kathy Wakile is recuperating after undergoing a facelift.

“Hi friends, I’m a few hours post-op and back home, comfortable, resting and not in any pain,” Wakile, 60, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, June 24. “I’m a little sleepy, as expected, and will be taking it easy for the next few days.”

Wakile underwent a neck and lower facelift, as well as a brow lift and lower blepharoplasty on her eyelids.

“This isn’t about changing the face I’ve known and loved for 60 years, it’s simply about restoring and refreshing what time has naturally changed,” she explained of her reasons for going under the knife. “I’ve chosen to share this journey openly because I know so many people are curious about the process and may be considering something similar themselves.”

Wakile further thanked her surgical team, Dr. T. Y. Steven Ip and Melissa Locke, for “taking such wonderful care” of the Bravolebrity.

“[You were] so gentle and reassuring throughout the entire process. I’m incredibly grateful to be in such caring hands,” Wakile continued. “Thank you all for the love, support, and well wishes ♥️.”

Wakile, who starred on RHONJ seasons 3 through 5 before appearing as a “friend of” in the next two seasons, decided to get plastic surgery after her milestone 60th birthday.

“This year, I turned 60 and decided to do something for myself. Not to change who I am, [but] I’ve been looking at the same face for 60 years, and I really like her,” Wakile wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, June 23. “What I wanted was simply to restore and revive what time and life naturally change.”

For Wakile, she wanted to publicly embrace her decision to get a facelift.

“Can we normalize supporting one another instead of judging one another for the choices we make about our own bodies?” she quipped. “What makes someone feel confident and comfortable in their own skin is their decision alone.”

At the time, Wakile noted how Ip and Locke’s team “understood exactly what [she] wanted” from the procedures.

“[I was looking for] a conservative approach that would leave me looking like myself,” she explained. “[But] just a little more rested, refreshed and revived.”
