Cue My Super Sweet 16! When your parents are Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr., a milestone birthday comes with horsepower.
The couple surprised their daughter, Charlotte, with a splashy new Jeep Rubicon for her 16th birthday, sharing a sweet message along with photos of her ride on Friday, September 19.
“16 years ago today, you made me a mom. I believe the quote is … a daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be your best friend,” Gellar, 48, gushed in her caption via Instagram, while showing off their coming-of-age gift with a big red bow on the hood.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has a starting MSRP of around $47,550 for a two-door model, according to the website, with the four-door Rubicon starting around $52,050.
“Charlotte, you are that and so much more. You are strong, you are inspiring, you are kind, you are funny (almost as funny as me 😉) and most importantly you are one of a kind, the best kind,” the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star continued. “Im so lucky to call you my best friend. And I’m equally excited to finally be your passenger PRINZEss ❤️.”
Not only does Charlotte have good taste in cars, but Gellar also recently told Us Weekly that her 16-year-old has a passion for fashion and loves the Fendi baguette she bought that was inspired by Sex and the City‘s Carrie Bradshaw.
“It’s one of the few things my daughter always wants to grab from my closet,” she exclusively told Us in September.

Gellar and Prinze Jr., 49, welcomed Charlotte in 2009, seven years after they tied the knot. They later expanded their family with the arrival of son Rocky James, who was born in 2012.
The lovebirds met in 1997 while filming the original I Know What You Did Last Summer, and their friendship soon blossomed into a long-lasting romantic connection. The pair got engaged in April 2001 and wed the following year on September 1, 2002.
Earlier this month, Gellar and Prinze Jr. celebrated their 23-year wedding anniversary.
