No need to dip into your wallet for checked luggage for a big travel weekend.

This Labor Day weekend, Hidden Valley Ranch plans to help travelers cover the cost of their checked bag fees — if they bring the ranch along for the journey.

Due to the 3.4oz liquid limit for carry-on bags, ranch lovers who can’t go without the beloved dressing either have to leave it behind or check a bag and pay the extra cash.

Hidden Valley Ranch doesn’t want their loyal consumers to be without ranch for the long weekend, so it’s covering the extra cost of checked luggage that has ranch in it.

“Let’s be honest — ranch fans don’t travel light when it comes to flavor,” Stacy Stokes, Vice President of Hidden Valley Ranch, said in a statement.

“Since a full-size bottle can’t make it through security, we’re covering checked bag fees so you can bring the good stuff with you, no compromises. Consider Hidden Valley Ranch travel insurance for your taste buds this Labor Day Weekend.”

To take advantage of the promotion and get your luggage cost covered by Hidden Valley, travelers need to simply take a photo of their bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch packed inside their suitcase.

Then post the image to Instagram between 1 p.m. ET on Friday, August 29, and 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, September 1, using the hashtag #PackYourHiddenValleyRanchOffer and tagging @Hidden.Valley.

Even those not traveling for Labor Day weekend can get in on the chance to save on travel expenses by sharing a photo posted by Hidden Valley.

The first 1,000 eligible travelers who post their Hidden Valley Ranch packed up in their suitcase will receive a $35 prepaid card to offset the cost of checked baggage fees — “because no ranch lover should have to leave their favorite condiment behind.”

Winners will receive a DM from the Hidden Valley Instagram account to claim their reimbursement starting September 2.

In August 2023, an Instagram post from the TSA went viral showing a traveler coming up with clever ways to bring ketchup on an airplane while still keeping the liquid rule.

The TSA used it as a reminder that liquid foods such as dips, sauces and jams must follow the 3.4oz rule if it’s going in a carry-on, otherwise it needs to be in a checked bag.

Meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has suggested that she is pushing the TSA to ease up on its liquids, aerosols and gels rule.

She announced last month that the TSA will no longer require passengers to remove their shoes at agency checkpoints — even if you don’t have TSA PreCheck.
